The head of the White House stated that he would not tolerate any delays, and the Israeli prime minister gave Hamas a few days to voluntarily disarm.
US President Donald Trump is demanding that Hamas quickly make peace with Israel before attacks on the Gaza Strip resume, he wrote on Truth Social on Saturday, October 4.
Trump said he would not tolerate any delays on this issue.
“I am grateful that Israel has temporarily halted the bombing to give the hostages a chance to be released and a peace deal to be reached. Hamas must act quickly, or all will be lost. I will not tolerate the delays that many believe are inevitable,” he said.
The US president also stated that he does not want to see a situation in which Gaza would once again pose a threat.
“Let’s do it quickly. Everyone will be treated fairly,” he stressed.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Hamas has only a few days to negotiate over the hostages. After that, the group will be disarmed, either through diplomacy or military means. He said this in a short address, The Times of Israel reports.
He stressed that the only reason Hamas is willing to release all hostages is military and diplomatic pressure.
As a reminder, on September 29, Trump presented a US plan aimed at an immediate cessation of hostilities, the release of hostages, and the establishment of an interim technocratic government in Gaza.
