Ukraine is considering the PURL initiative to purchase American long-range missiles.
According to the head of state, during his meeting with Trump this week, he will discuss, among other things, Tomahawk missiles. Regarding possible funding sources, there are three options.
Zelenskyy added that one option is NATO’s PURL program. Under this program, Alliance members purchase weapons from the US for subsequent transfer to Ukraine.
The second option is to purchase missiles from the US directly through the Mega deal.
“This is a big story, and we still have to get to the bottom of it,” Zelenskyy clarified.
And the third option is a purchase using frozen Russian assets.
“It’s definitely a good option,” he said, but added that the issue “still needs to be resolved.”
