Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the agenda of his meeting with US President Donald Trump will include military and economic issues that could impact the end of the war. He emphasized that the United States wields global influence that could change the course of events.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this in an evening video address on October 15.
"We've already done our homework before our meeting with President Trump—the military part, and also our economic part. Our meeting's agenda is very substantive. This could really bring the war to an end: the United States holds the potential for such global influence, and we're doing everything we can to ensure others in the world are on our side in this effort," Zelenskyy said.
Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak, government officials, and Ukrainian Ambassador Olha Stefanishyna are already holding meetings at their level in Washington.
"They are preparing the groundwork for a conversation with the leader of the United States, as well as with American defense companies, in particular air defense manufacturers, and with representatives of energy companies," Zelensky said.
As a reminder, the Ukrainian president's visit to the United States is scheduled for October 17.
