Crimea’s water supply problem is rapidly worsening, amid ongoing drought and declining reservoir levels.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a publication by the Center for National Resistance on the Telegram network.
The situation in the region is deteriorating: in Alushta, according to available data, water reserves will only last for three months. Russian officials on the peninsula say they are looking for ways to stabilize the supply, but no concrete plans have been put in place yet.
In some communities, water supply restrictions have already been put into effect, and in some areas, people are forced to collect water from natural sources that are unfit for consumption.
Tensions are rising in Simferopol, as discussions of a possible “staff rotation” are underway in the local administration halls.
At the same time, the head of the occupation authorities, Sergei Aksyonov, according to sources, is trying to shift responsibility to the Russian Ministry of Defense, accusing the military of excessively using water for the needs of the training grounds.
At the same time, Moscow is urgently preparing internal audits and personnel changes in the Crimean administration.
As the crisis worsens, local authorities are discussing introducing temporary water supply schedules and using tanker trucks to deliver technical water.
Experts note, however, that even such measures can only delay the development of a disaster unless systematic steps are taken to provide the peninsula with sustainable water sources.
As a reminder, a fire has broken out again at the Atan gas station depot in the village of Gvardeyskoye, Crimea. It was partially extinguished following a nighttime attack by Ukrainian drones on October 17. According to local sources, the fire reignited several hours later and spread to new fuel tanks.
It should be noted that Ukrainian forces involved in controlling unmanned aerial systems destroyed a modern Russian Valdai radar station in occupied Crimea. According to intelligence, the attack completely destroyed the equipment and it cannot be repaired.
