Turkey expects a visit from Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2026. The exact dates are still unknown, a Turkish diplomatic source told.
According to him, the Russian leader received an invitation at the highest level.
“We are looking forward to this visit and hope that it will take place next year,” the agency’s source said.
On December 12, the Russian leader’s press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, reported that Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held talks. The parties discussed the European Union’s (EU) desire to perpetrate a “grandiose scam” with Russia’s frozen assets. The two leaders exchanged views on the conflict in Ukraine, as well as regional and international affairs.
According to the Kremlin, during the meeting, the leaders noted that the multifaceted nature of Russia-Turkey relations, particularly in trade and economic matters, helps counter pressure from third countries.
