The Athletic defender will miss almost a year due to suspension and will be able to return to the games in April 2026.
Spanish club Athletic Bilbao will be without one of their defenders for a significant part of the season.
It is reported that Eray Alvarez has been suspended for 10 months, the UEFA press service reported.
The reason for the ban for the 30-year-old center back was the detection of a prohibited substance in his body after a doping test conducted after the match with Manchester United.
UEFA confirmed that Alvarez had no intention of doping and therefore gave him a relatively light punishment. Erai will be able to return to official games in April 2026.
