Ignat: Russians are testing modernized types of weapons on the battlefield in Ukraine

As RBC-Ukraine reports, this was stated by the head of the communications department of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuriy Ignat, during a telethon.

Ignat noted that the topic of modernizing Russian missiles is far from new. It is clear that “working” on missiles in this case becomes more difficult.

“Of course, it has become more difficult to work with missiles that fly on a quasi-ballistic trajectory. That is, they fluctuate when approaching the target. This complicates the work of Patriot: when shooting down ballistics, the system operates in automatic mode and it becomes more difficult to calculate the point where the anti-missile will collide or explode next to the enemy’s ballistic missile,” he explained.

In addition, according to Ignat, the situation remains difficult to detect a large number of missiles from different directions. But this was known before.

“If missiles come in from different directions, then detection by one system is not possible, you need to have several systems so that there are several radars that can cover the city from different directions,” the spokesman for the Armed Forces of the Ukrainian SSR added.
