US President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a telephone conversation on Sunday, April 28, during which they discussed Israel’s opening of additional crossing points in northern Gaza.
Biden is said to have reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to Israel’s security after successfully defending against an unprecedented missile and drone attack by Iran earlier this month.
The officials also discussed negotiations for the release of the hostages and an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
In addition, their conversation touched on the increase in the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, including in preparation for the opening of new northern checkpoints that will begin this week.
Biden emphasized the need to continue and strengthen this progress in full coordination with humanitarian organizations.
Regarding the issue of Rafahu, Biden “confirmed his clear position.”
