The US House of Representatives voted against the resignation of Speaker Johnson

The overwhelming majority of Republicans and Democrats in the US House of Representatives voted against the motion for the resignation of Speaker Mike Johnson.

A member of the US House of Representatives, Republican Marjorie Taylor Green, accused Speaker Mike Johnson of colluding with the Democratic Party and suggested a vote for his resignation.

The Green initiative was supported by only 11 Republicans, and the remaining 196 other representatives of this party strongly opposed Johnson’s dismissal.

163 Democrats also spoke in support of the Republican speaker.

Thus, Johnson remains at the head of the House of Representatives of the US Congress.
