Russia wants to restore Nord Stream
Russia expects that the Americans will use their influence on Europe and force it not to give up Russian gas.
Russia and the United States are negotiating the resumption of the Nord Stream gas pipeline, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an interview with Russian media, Politico reports.
"There are talks about Nord Stream. Obviously, it will be interesting if the Americans use their influence on Europe and force it not to give up Russian gas," Lavrov said.
According to him, Russia is "interested in restoring normal energy supplies to Europe."
Until now, Germany has opposed the restoration of the gas pipeline.
Brussels is also not considering the possibility of returning to Russian gas imports.
The publication notes that Russia and the United States are currently negotiating a ceasefire in Ukraine, but at the same time, Washington is using them to discuss "major economic deals" in the future.
Recall, in early March, the media reported that the United States was developing a project to restart the Russian Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline to Europe with the support of American investors.
