Explosions reported in Engels, Russia

Local Telegram channels write that the drones were supposedly flying towards a local oil refinery.

A series of explosions were heard in the city of Engels, Saratov Oblast, Russia, on the night of Friday, March 28. This was reported by a number of Russian Telegram channels, citing local residents.

It is noted that four explosions were heard after four in the morning (local time).

"Bright flashes are visible in the sky and automatic gunfire is heard. There is no official information about casualties or destruction," the Shot channel writes.

According to him, the UAVs were apparently flying towards a local oil refinery.

Recall that the city of Engels is home to a strategic aviation military airfield, which has been repeatedly attacked by UAVs. In particular, on March 20, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the defeat of the Engels airfield . Fire, explosions and secondary detonation of ammunition were recorded there. Later, the Ukrainian General Staff stated that as a result of the attack , the Russians lost 96 air-launched cruise missiles , which were designed to deliver three missile strikes during March-April of this year.

And in January, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed a strike on an oil depot in the city of Engels . The oil depot that supplied fuel for Russian strategic aircraft caught fire there.
