FT: US could provide Ukraine with 20 to 50 Tomahawk missiles

The United States could provide Ukraine with between 20 and 50 Tomahawk cruise missiles, Stacey Pettyjohn, director of defense at the Center for a New American Security, told the Financial Times .

In her assessment, “this cannot fundamentally change the dynamics of the war.”

The exact number of Tomahawk missiles the US has is unknown. Former Pentagon official Mark Kansian, now at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, estimates that there may be around 4,150.

Washington may need Tomahawk missiles for strikes on Venezuela, the Financial Times notes.

On Friday, October 17, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will meet with US President Donald Trump at the White House. One of the topics of their conversation is expected to be the transfer of Tomahawk missiles to Kyiv.
