Because of the threat of taking the children away for so-called “rehabilitation”, the parents dared to leave the occupation. After all, there were cases when children were taken away and not returned home.

Another six Ukrainian children and their parents managed to be returned to the territory controlled by Ukraine and rescued from the camps of the Russian occupiers. Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of Kherson OVA, announced this on Tuesday, May 14.

It is reported that a girl and five boys, aged from 5 to 12 years, were taken out of the occupied territories.

“Due to the threat of sending the children to the so-called “rehabilitation”, the parents dared to leave the occupation. After all, there were cases when the children were taken away and not returned home,” the report says.

Prokudin said that the Save Ukraine organization took care of the return of families with children.

“It was an extremely difficult rescue mission with delays at roadblocks and intimidation. Fortunately, all the children are safe now. Doctors and psychologists are working with them,” the head of the region notes.

Prokudin added that since the beginning of 2024, 84 children from the Kherson region have been returned from the occupied regions to the territory controlled by Ukraine.
