German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius warns against stopping support for Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.
The German minister’s statement is cited by Zeit.
According to Pistorius, Ukraine should be able to act from a position of strength and perhaps “have the opportunity to negotiate at some point.”
“If we stop supporting Ukraine tomorrow, then the day after tomorrow will be the end of Ukraine, the end of a sovereign, free state in the center of Europe,” he said.

The head of the German defense ministry also responded to calls to withdraw support because this is not Germany’s war.
“Indeed, this is not our war, but it could become ours. Anyone who listens to Russian President Vladimir Putin can only come to one conclusion: ‘Putin is preparing,'” Pistorius warned.
He emphasized that the Kremlin’s master “is creating conditions to seriously threaten us,” citing as an example the transition to a military economy, an increase in tank production and the number of soldiers.
Pistorius previously stated that he still sees a possibility that Russia will try to attack NATO countries in 2029-2030.
