Rangers appoint new head coach

Danny Rehl has been appointed head coach of Scottish club Rangers on a two-and-a-half-year contract. This was reported by the Rangers press service.

The 36-year-old was most recently at Sheffield Wednesday, where he left in July. Rehl has extensive experience as an assistant coach, having worked with Ralf Gasengütl at Leipzig and Southampton, and assisted Hans-Dieter Flick at Bayern and with the German national team.

Rangers are currently in 6th place in the Scottish Premier League. In the Europa League, the team suffered defeats in the first two group stage matches – against Genk (0:1) and Sturm Graz (1:2).

As a reminder, the Scottish club dismissed head coach Russell Martin after a series of poor results.
